This site is not intended to prepare you for a lucrative new career as a professional programmer. You will not be a coding expert after using this site. What I am hoping to do here is to break down a wall of intimidation, boredom, and confusion. Hopefully, you'll see that coding can be fairly easy and kinda fun. You'll learn enough to be able to start playing around with coding and creating some fun stuff. Maybe that's all you want. Coding can be fun and the logical reasoning and problem solving skills involved are valuable for anyone. You don't have to desire a career in coding for it to be worth learning. And if you do find that you enjoy coding and want to continue learning, you'll have a solid foundation and the most important skill for coding...knowing what questions to ask. If you haven't noticed, the internet has quite a bit of information out there available to anyone. You just have to know enough to ask the right questions.

Anyone who's ever learned a foreign language knows that its far more effective learning when you're actually in a foreign country. You don't spend time learning all the minutae and grammar of the language, you just learn what's most useful and enjoyable. That's what I hope you'll find here. Just knowing a few commonly used bits of HTML and CSS code can allow you to create lots of fun, impressive work. I relate it to the approach discussed by Josh Kaufman in his TED talk. If you're interested check out the video, its well worth your twenty minutes. Also keep in mind that this site works best as a supplment used with in-person instruction.
